Hi all. I recently got back from vacation and I was checking out the photos I took. Anyway, i noticed that my camera is very sticky. I guess i dropped a few drinks on it when I was shooting in the evening of our last night. I got it in the power switch, the shutter release button, on the lens and more! Lol. Anyway, it is still functioning properly and working like a dream still.

My question is how many times have you thanked your lucky stars that your camera was weather sealed? I did a few times on my trip, thats for sure!

Well, I'm glad you can laugh about it as I would be concerned a bit at this point. Using a clean moist cloth, have you been able to wipe the surface down as much as you can? I would concentrate around the switches, etc, perhaps even using some Q-tips. I'm not advising any sort of disassembly, but go after all the exposed surfaces.

Lol. I have cleaned it already and getting it ready to get it professionally cleaned at my camera store as well. That is not the worst thats happened to it. We were caught in a light rain storm as well. Got a few drops on it but worked flawlessly! I do take care of my gear but i am not the kind of person that is constantly worrying and treating it like its a precious gem sent from above. They are built to take some abuse, however I dont throw it down stairs or leave it outside all day. Great camera!

The 6d is my go-to drinking buddy, half the loss when it gets a little too crazy at the party!

Mixing Alcohol with Photography: The Untold Story of a 5DIII Abused

Once you sober up and the hangover is gone, I'd try cleaning it.

I've had my 6D at some events with an open bar and so far have managed not to spill any drinks on it. That's not only not right to the camera, but it isn't right for the drinks either!

Yikes! I treat my camera like it was a piece of fine crystal. This is why I have one of these:

http://delkin.com …-protect-snug-it-pro.html (external link)

The rest of the camera is covered with screen protectors (ZAGG Invisible Shield cut to size) and the bottom has an RRS plate. The only unprotected areas are the flash card door and the battery door. And even then, if I see someone stumbling around with a beer, my camera goes right into my backpack!

My EOS 3 is probably the camera that's gotten the most gunked up. I think there's still all kinds of crud wedged in the seams and gaps since the last time I made a mess of it.

Sorry, no experience or crazy stories about getting money shots onto my camera gear in that genre or any other for that matter.

Just saying there could be worse things to make you camera sticky.
