Camera - 5Dm3
Flash - YN 568 EXII
Triggers - YN-622

In the camera's flash menu, under Flash Function Settings, If I leave HSS on, does it only kick in above 1/200 or will HSS functionality be enabled at every shutter speed if I leave it enabled?

If the later, I should disable when not in use so I'm not losing power?

Thanks

It will only kick in when the shutter speed goes above the camera's max sync speed.

Got it thanks. So no technical reason to disable it correct?

Also, I don't have an option for second curtain sync. Is that only available if I have a flash in the camera hotshoe?

None. Just dont get too comfy in the idea that it will remain on through a battery change or such. Yes, second curtain sync is limited to a flash in the hotshoe, although perhaps the YN622 triggers might be able to accomplish that, but I cant remember for certain. The main reason for the limitation is that triggering systems all have some delay so if the flash fires at the end of the exposure how will the camera know when to trigger a remote flash if it doesnt know the extra timing involved.

Nope, the 622c will will allow second curtain off camera. Make sure you have "wireless function" disabled.

Will try that. Also just read through the 622 google doc again, and it makes mention of having to have the camera in a"creative mode".

I think that just means anything other than green box.

BTW, just turned off wireless in the camera menu and second curtain sync shows up....Thanks! I have no immediate plans for it, but my OCD wanted to know why it wasn't an option ;)
