One more time, it has nothing to do with "not enough tax dollars". That is an incredibly naive view that tells me you aren't paying close enough attention to our government.
Are u posting to educate or just to tell people they are naive and u are right?
I am very aware of how things get funded. I work in the system. I am not here to describe everything I have observed of such things as that would be many pages of stuff, so u are right all this is an over simplification. But ultimately the nature of the American citizen, our beliefs in free enterprise, and our nature to want more without working for it all have lead to many severe problems. The op's initial topic is one symptom.
But anyway, I think we can all agree anything to do with government never is the result of few. The suggestion that the address error is the result of a bad programmer is completely off base. Typically software paid for by the government, at least in my industry, has been reviewed by hundreds of people, from developers to managers to customers. In the end hundreds of people have failed to produce an adequate address input. U can draw your conclusions from that.
To all those who say the general public are not at fault, think about this: u have identified a problem. What are u going to do about it?
