Alright so let me make this clear: I own the bag, I love the bag, it's the only camera bag I have that's not Think Tank, and it's also my most used bag.

Now the problem is that I realised the internal fluff and external flap cover fluff have all come loose, and practically nothing velcro sticks any more. Any divider inside is held in place by the equipment. Sometimes I like to use it just as a prime lens bag for 2 lenses + 1 slot for spare lens... But with this problem, the 2 lenses just shift about inside because the dividers don't stay in place.

For the external cover, all I have to do is to pay maybe 2 bucks to stitch a new velcro hook patch (and have an ugly stitching line breaking the clean look). But for the internal fluff, I don't have a solution.

Is there anyone out there that experienced this before and can chime in? If I can't solve the internal divider shifting problem, I might either buy a new f5xb (maybe in a different colour than black this time), or ditch it and head over to the Retro5 from TTP.

Thoughts?

Almost any Velcro loop surface will get torn up over time by the hooks on the other part of the fastener (and vice versa). I'm afraid that's just the nature of the beast. I have parkas with the same problem. You could either get some inserts (like Domke makes for their larger bags) made in your most commonly-used configuration or, assuming that the ends of the lining are still usable, get some wide Velcro and stitch the hook and loop pieces together back-to-back then fasten that to the remaining good parts of the liner. You might even be able to get a seamstress or luggage repair outfit to stitch new Velcro loops to the lining along the existing seams.
