I decided to move into the land of 4x4 filters and went the Lee route mostly for the Big Stopper and ND .9. I am ok paying the price for the actual glass but had a hard time with the price of the Lee metal adapters.

I went for a walk on the flea ebay site and cam across "the filter dude". Seems like I can get three wide angle adapters for the price of one Lee WA adapter. Ttaded a few emails with the dude and have product(s) in hand. I would highly recommend the filter dude.

I have a SERK wide angle adapter from eBay. Works just fine. I agree with LEE's overpriced rings.

Have you looked at the Lee adaptors? If yes, are there any differences in quality or construction?

I have looked at Lee and returned them after receiving the ones from the dude. I believe the Lee adapters are two pieces and glued as compared to the "dudes" are a single pressing of aluminum.

I also purchased and received the 77mm and 82mm wide angle adapters and am quite pleased with the quality of these adapters more so than the one Lee Standard 77mm adapter I have. The Filter Dude adapters have a nicer machined aluminum quality to them.

The 77mm WA fits perfectly on both my 24-105 f/4 and 70-200 f/2.8. The 82mm WA fits perfectly on my 16-35 f/2.8.
