We have all see a multitude of posts of the "I ordered such-and-such from XYZ, Inc., and they lost/broke/are taking forever/etc." type. We all love to gripe when something doesn't go exactly as we think it should. Me included.
Well, now for something completely different.
Last Thursday (19 Dec 2013), I went out to dinner with a friend. At this dinner, we exchanged holiday gifts. Knowing I love books and movies, her gift to me was an Amazon gift card.
After dinner, around 8:00 p.m., I went on-line and ordered a set of British comedies on DVDs from Amazon. I opted for the lowest-price shipping (5-7 working days).
Friday morning, I got an email from Amazon; my order was shipped and should arrive on Monday, 23 December. I was surprised and considered this extremely fast for the el-cheapo shipping. Especially during the holiday season.
They lied! My DVDs arrived on Saturday, 23 December! And via the USPS yet! During the peak of the Christmas rush!
I think both Amazon and the USPS deserve kudos for good service! Two days to deliver a parcel with the cheapest shipping rate during the peak of the Christmas rush is outstanding! Great work, guys!
