I would like to see what some of you do to achieve gelled strobes when using studio lights with a softbox. In my case I'm using Einsteins with Photoflex boxes. Thanks in advance

I cut out a large piece and use gaffer tape to tape it inside of the softbox before the internal diffuser.

For Softboxes - Yes, I agree.
while I don’t have Einsteins & Photoflex (instead have four Profoto D1Air-500’s & Profoto light modifiers) but use the same approach.

I also have a set of these clips (to clip to OD of speedring, or spoke of softbox/lightmodifier), but don’t use them very often. Manfrotto Multi Clips [Mfr# 375]:

For Reflectors – this:

(which Paul Buff product line of Einsteins, White Lighting etc. accessories I recall have a somewhat similar gel holder).

I just use wooden clothes pins to attach them to the front of my reflectors.

Dave Hobby did a pretty good article about this, and specifically uses Einsteins:

Great idea. I just error on the side of caution, as I was concerned about heat, ventilation & potentially melting gels.
(no right or wrong, it's whatever approach each of us feel comfortable with).
