I very seldom get a photo that I think is good enough to post on here, but I
think this one is ok.

That is a gorgeous shot, Tom; I might crop it a bit differently, as the width looks a bit much for the height, but a great shot nevertheless.

How would you crop it?

Beautiful shot, I would use a 3:2 or 4:3 or 5:4 aspect crop.

Great shot, beautiful bird. Basically he's saying to crop it in a more square shape. Personally, I would prefer a closer crop, keeping the reflection and perhaps a bit of the branches in the background.

Thanks for all the nice comments. Is this a better crop?

Tom

I crop 16x9 most of the time!! if you display your work on a led or flat screen it works the best.

good capture Tom. I don't crop to a set ratio, so my suggestion would be take some off the left, and some off the bottom to start with, and see how that goes, moves the bird a little to off center.

Tom:

I was thinking something like this:

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/eastcoast909/Birds/Reifel%20Bird%20Sanctuary/resizedwigeon.jpg~original
IMAGE LINK: http://smg.photobucket.com …ry/resizedwigeon.jpg.html (external link)

That all being said and done, it is up to the photographer to decide what he likes and want to present. Enjoy your shots, my friend.

I want to thank all that commented on this photo as it gives me the courage
