Had a package shipped USPS Priority Mail 2-Day from Louisianna to me in Florida. It was dropped off and departed Wednesday 12/18. Ever since then it's been MIA with no tracking updates. Called USPS twice and they had absolutely no info for me. They seemed useless actually.

Just curious if it's just my luck or if its typical of them. I've had 4 other packages arive already that were all ordered after that item and shipped UPS.. guess I won't be using USPS again.

Wifey sent a package to her folks in CT (from IL) 2nd Day and it took four. She also insured it, but the carrier left it sitting on the bench outside their house and they found it hours later. Holiday season or not, there's no excuse for shoddy handling. If they're charging you extra for 2nd Day, they should be obligated to deliver it then. If doing so is impossible due to the workload, then don't offer the service.

I've actually always had very good experiences with USPS. UPS has generally been my problem carrier.

Well, I've had more delays from FedEx, who can't make it to my address by a reasonable hour (so far this month they're 0 for 2 in on-time deliveries). Anything sent through the USPS to the door services (and FedEx, UPS and DHL all offer this to their shippers) has taken a couple of days from the time the shipment reached the USPS turnover where if it's been sent straight through the original shipper it's have arrived (well, DHL doesn't provide to-the-door service any more) it'd have been virtually overnight. Latest case in point is a NewEgg order - part I got the shipping notice early Monday; it's coming FedEx from CA, and part UPS from PA where I got the shipping notice his morning and have it in my hands now. I've had fewer "missed deliveries" or other delays from UPS than from any other shipping agent.

Never had problems with UPS. FedEx on the other hand has been a disaster.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I have found lots of regional differences. In my old neighborhood it seemed that the USPS deliverers didn't know how to read English. Service was horrible. We would get other peoples mail about twice a month. Who knows who got mine. FedEx on the other hand was great. I recently moved to the Dallas area and the USPS is great, not a single error yet.

they're not useless. Useless would be like my post office, which will not answer the phone.

I've had two overnight shipments with UPS delayed recently. One was supposed to arrive Friday and showed up Saturday, the other was supposed to arrive Saturday and showed up Tuesday. They're doing pretty damn well

Package finally popped up tonight after nearly 7 days MIA and says it was processed through my local sort facility. Unfortunately even though it's now 3 milles from my house, I still won't see it until Thursday since they're not delivering tomorrow, darn!

Send a gift priority 1 day to arrive Christmas Eve. Didn't make it. Was supposed to be a surprise. Spent half the day making it. Not happy

The delays experienced by Fedex, UPS, and USPS are beginning to show up in the headlines. Weather delays aren't their fault, but you'd think with all their computer equipment and programs that they wouldn't have been so surprised with the volume. I guess a lot more people shopped online this year.

I worked for UPS in Germany back in the late 80's. There were days when my route got pummeled with computer shipments (when CRT boxes were huge). I had no choice but to drive directly to the center of my route where the computers were to be delivered and clear them out of my truck. Because of the setup there, it would take me nearly half an hour to unload them all. Then I had to go back to the beginning of my route and start my normal deliveries. So don't take it out on the driver. It's hardly ever their fault.
