This is Harold. He lives near me and I see him about 8 times a year. This time he was right in the middle of the yard and I got closer and closer with a macro adapter. I forget which lens I used and what size adapter. He's usually shy, but just wouldn't move this day.

I've been wanting to capture him for years but he always bolts. He is a very unique color compared to the other ones I see, and quite a bit bigger.

Nice shot.
Is that a short horned or Regal horned? The pinkish color makes me
think short horned and NE AZ.

Short-horned as far as I can find. East Central AZ.
