Has anyone bought this lens yet?
Hows it compare to EF 24-105?

I was notified by the seller that they do not have stock in the Canon mount, I am now waiting to hear of an ETA.

Update: now shipped, hope to have some photos and opinions soon

Just arrived

IMAGE: http://brakel.com.au/other/S24-105.jpg

I haven't tuned the AFMA yet or calibrated with the DOC, but I mounted it to ensure all was operating correctly with out faults.

First impressions: this is going to be as sharp as my 24-70II if not sharper!
But I will wait till I have tuned, tested and compared before making too many claims.
The zoom ring is firm, its feel very consistent moving from wide to long and back, much nicer than the 24-70II, which requires less torque to move to wide than moving toward long.
My impression of the build quality is very good!

My copy out of the box back focused slightly on my 5D3, a quick test determined that it was consistent at all focal lengths and distances, I adjusted the lens using the DOC to -3 on all 16 settings before continuing the following:-

I am surprised to find the lens so linear, this is a first for any lens I have owned.
My 6D is +5 MA points with respect to my 5D3, after adjusting this lens with the DOC, my 5D3 has been set back to 0 AFMA, I suspect I will need +2 on the 6D, but will test once Im happy with the calibration. (it was performed in poor light, so will double check later).

Firstly the bad:
Vignetting is bad at all focal lengths! as seen in the uncorrected images below hopefully ACR will have a profile for this lens sooner than later.

The following images are as shot, with out sharpening or other adjustments, imported to lightroom.

Now the Good:

The following 3 are screen captures of lightroom, magnification (1:1) 100%

Looks great here too. Thanks for taking the time to post this. Seems if Canon does indeed discontinue the 24-105 this would be a great option for those who are interested in this focal length.

Looks really nice wonder how much better it is than the Canon? Did you have the Canon? How's the AF? That's always a killer for me with 3rd party lenses.
