Has anyone tried this or own this product? I am in the works of converting to an arca swiss set-up for my tri-pods and came across this product http://www.kickstarter.com …-plate-a-camera-accessory (external link)

I currently use the manfrotto rc2 plate system because it works well with my black rapid

Haven't tried it, but I use L-brackets like many others so that's a dissuading factor. For those who do serious tripod work you'll be hard pressed to get them to remove the L-bracket that might as well be welded to their cameras, just for the convenience of a specific niche product like this.

For those with L-brackets this is a good already-existing solution for going from camera-strap to tripod:

Nice looking piece. I have a Kirk QRC-1 quick release clamp attached to my BR strap that I use to switch between BR strap and arca-Swiss compatible tripod. Went that route b/c my tripod came with two plates so a single $40 clamp was more cost-effective.

With the Fusion, you would need to take the strap off the plate in order to place the camera on the ballhead. You can take a look at the Custom SLR M-Plate PRO. It works on both Manfrotto RC2 and Arca-Swiss. So if you're slowly converting to Arca or plan on having both, this would be great. This also allows you to leave your strap attached and still be able to mount it to the tripod. Ball heads can be pricey so I have my Sunwayfoto XB-52DL on my main tripod and my Manfrotto RC2 on a monopod.

I use a similar setup. Wimberley plates on the cameras and these clamps on the BR straps. (external link)

I like that setup, I didn't know it worked for both, I saw it on adorama but I didn't read all the details. Eventually I am going to get a RRS bh-55 head for my manfrotto legs but until then this might work.
My main concern is that I use my 70-200 most of the time and will this plate be too bulky?

You plan on putting this on the tripod collar or camera itself? The M-Plate is meant to be attached to the camera body itself.

If you want to put on the tripod color, you can take a look at their M-Plate Mini - http://www.customslr.com/products/m-plate-mini (external link). It will stick out a little I believe.
