Hi, my budget is pretty tight so what flash setup can I get? Looking at yongnuos with TTL and HSS. Do I need a wireless flash remote as I'm using a 550d?

ask in the flash/lighting section https://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=35
outdoors in daylight a wireless flash trigger is desirable but there are a lot of other factors.

For a tight budget, a Yongnuo 568EX and YN-622C radio triggers. You can fire the 568 with the camera's popup flash, but without the radio triggers you are limited to line of sight, normal sync speeds, and manual power settings on the flash.

Thanks for those suggestions, but what do you mean with the popup flash? As far as i know, the 550d doesnt support wireless flash capabilities right?

The YN-568EX flash has two slave modes where it can be triggered by another flash popping near it. Your built-in flash fires twice, once to meter the scene and once for the actual exposure. The 568 can be set to ignore the first metering flash and fire on the exposure flash at the power you set on the back of the unit.

For a real budget setup, I'd skip the TTL stuff...
