Since I will be gearing up to do something tomorrow i.e. covering a few events before the year is out, I wish to take time to wish everyone a Happy New Year and see you sometime in the next year i.e. some time after the 2nd Jan 2014

Did you have a hood on the lens? I'm wondering what you could do next time to avoid that. Have a cloth handy to wipe the front element?

Pffft, the 16-35mm lens hood is pretty much ineffective....I should of used my 24-70mm, but it was attached to my crop body camera for taking photos of other things, oh well, next time it's the other way round though I should have a new FF camera for next time so problems like this don't arise
