Challenge #465 - New with Old

This week, I would like to challenge you to show me New with Old. This could be a baby on a grandparents knee….. a new building amongst old ones….. a new car parked at a classic car show - its your choice.

_______________

Thanks for all the interesting photos this week; I was hoping for a few more entries but thanks to those who took part anyhow.

Maureen Souza - First Visit with Old St. Nick

Maureen, this shot reminded me so much of my eldest son's reaction on his first visit to Santa too! Love the festive colours.

OhLook - New Jacket, old Hanger

Clear and sharp photo, I would love to know the history behind the hanger and which cupboards it has hung inside over the years. Great idea, great photo.

Sttrory - Old Phone Meets new Phones

Love the idea as phones are always updating - for once I'd have liked just a little less bokeh!

Marie - Old Supper and New Cuppa

Great contrast of old and new in a coffee culture world. I'm not a fan of the grainy processing, but that's just my view.

rpolitsr - Post Processing Family Pictures

How computers have evolved but still, old or new, they help us store our digital photos.

The winners:

1 OhLook

2 Sttrory

3 Maureen Souza

northants, thank you so much for choosing mine as #1. "New with Old" certainly applies, because my husband's been telling me that sooner or later I'd win the G competition. He told me so many times that hearing it got old. What's new is that this time he was right.

I don't know the history of the hanger, only that it was already old when I got it. Maybe J. Allec's laundry was in San Francisco, but not necessarily. Many cities have a Market Street and may have had a Market phone exchange. Phone numbers that short came long before women's outdoor clothing made of purple synthetic fabrics that shed rain. The hanger still works.

I'll announce a new topic before the end of the day.

Congrats to OhLook & story for the winning shots. Thanks for 3rd; I rarely get out to shoot with my Pro 1 anymore so I was glad to see it worked when we went to visit Santa a couple of weeks ago. :)

Marie, your photo was great--better than mine, I thought, but I won't argue with the judge.

Congratulations OhLook, sttrory, Maureen.
OhLook, welcome to the list of hosts/judges :)

For the date of my photo, the Dell computer was certainly new, now both are old, although the Compaq is even older.
The tittle was intended as a not-so-good reference to the computers and the granddad and grandson that are depicted in the monitors.

marie, you added new faces to the last supper too :)
