My wife and another second shooter shot their wedding, but she wanted some fall photos in her wedding dress. Stunning gal. Perfect time of the year...

Great expressions and colors. She is, indeed, a beautiful bride. I am sure they were more than pleased.

Love the 3rd one down as well. Sells that lens for sure. (Not to detract from the shooter! It's only as good as who's holding it) I just ordered the 1.8, hopefully it can produce something half as good.

I love the processing here, any insight to your techniques? Or is it closely guarded :)

Very beautiful session, loving the light, colors and stellar background separation (especially in the closer up portraits).

The 1.8 is a fantastic lens. I owned it before the 1.2, and miss its AF, but what matters to me is the image, which is why the 1.2 was purchased.

As for post processing, it came out of Lightroom with pretty basic settings. S curve. Dropped saturation on greens and yellows. Boosted vibrance to 11. Brushed her face, and made the eyes pop. Exported it to Photoshop, where I touched the eyes up one more time and did a little skin smoothening.

The last thing, probably what you are noticing, is a custom action I've developed... which crushes the blacks by a tiny amount, boosts the oranges/reds. I then usually mask it the subjects body to keep contrast levels decent. I hope that helps.

The Canon 85mm 1.2 is a serious shot maker .No serious professional photographer can work without one .The 24-70mm 2.8 and 70-200mm 2.8 gets the pictures but 85mm 1.2 get your name out there !You just can't duplicate the bokeh with the zoom lenses .The closest you will get will be the end of the 70-200mm at 2.8 but have to be way , way back ,in order to get the shot and that complicates communication and posing unless you have an assistant who really knows what you want and how do you want it .I shoot with nikon and canon ( because of the 85mm 1.2 ).It would be a dream to have a D800 with a Canon 85mm 1.2 .That would be the flagship destroyer of camera combinations !

Canon 85mm 1.2 shot at 1.4.

awesome shots....wish I didn't read this quote though. I've been trying to resist buying this lens for weeks now but this post is making it impossible!

Also, when shooting with the 85 do you use one shot or servo? I've read arguments for both....Thanks!

Phenomenal! I hope to be as good as you one day!! What equipment did you shoot this with?

I own a Canon EOS Rebel T3i. 50mm lens and 55-250mm lens. Canon rocks!
