Is a 60D with 26k shutter actuations for $450 a good deal? Everything works perfectly except it has the rubber grip problem where the rubber on the grip is lifting. It also has 9 months left of Henry's 3-year extended warranty plan that's transferable to the new owner.

Has anyone dealt with Henry's regarding the rubber lifting and being covered by their extended warranty? Camera was sold to the original owner in 2010 and I am the second owner.

You can get a better deal than that, I just sold mine for $450, 7k shutter, mint with grip.

They all seem to sell for around that price, just be patient and you can get a like new for that price....imho

Looks like I will be selling my 60D soon as I am ordering a 70D today. It is lightly used by a hobbyist and has the Canon battery grip. Excellent shape! Let me know if you would be interested. Thanks, Verne (vcsocks@hotmail.com)

I would have given shutter count but have to search how you find that.

I have a 60D. No way on earth I'd sell it for $450. If it broke today, I'd get a refurbished unit from Canon at 1/2 the price of a 70D. I am sure the 70D is a nice camera. I don't do LV or video, so I don't consider it much of an upgrade to the 60D.

Actually, I went ahead and bought it after searching the local Craigslist and Kijiji ads in my province (Ontario). The lowest I have seen them was $550 and the highest was $800 and these are bodies only, no lenses.

None of them had any warranty. This one was bought new by the original owner at the local Henry's store near me. He had the original receipt that showed the extended warranty expires in November of 2014 and Henry's confirmed that it was good and transferable. Everything that came in the box also came with it.

I have watched the for sale ads here on POTN, but there hasn't been any coming up at that price with a warranty and if one did, it would cost me more for shipping and taxes to have it shipped cross border anyway.

So I am just wondering if any Canadian owner who has bought one from Henry's with their extended warranty had any problems getting the rubber issue fixed by them?

60D is 575 refurbished at the Canon store. It is eligible for the loyalty program, so if it is 20% off the listed refurb price, you should be able to get a refurb for $460 if you turned in an old p&s or something that you are not using. At least look into it.

A new 60D at Canon Canada is still $960 plus taxes and I thought of a new T5i but didn't like the feel in my larger hands.

The 60D is a big step up from my XSi which I have used for the last 3 years.

Scrumhalf, Canon doesn't sell refurbs up here in Canada as far as I can tell from their Canon.ca site.

26k on shutter count is high and should be concidered especially on a 3 year old body .. no wonder the grip is worn

I think B&H and Adorama sell Canon refurbs. Do they ship to Canada?

The high shutter count doesn't bother me. I bought my XSi with 15k actuations and it currently has 32k and still going strong.

The grip isn't worn, it's the rubber peeling off. Same issue as shown in this thread:

Shutter count is irrelevant. I sold my XSi a few years ago. The buyer is still using it at 80,000+. The (broken) T1i I just bought has less than 6,000 on it. They fail when they fail, period.

Adorama and B&H are both around $650 with shipping, duties, and taxes to me here in London, Ontario and there's still an issue with warranty repairs for their refurbs up here in Canada.

It looks more and more like I did got a fairly good deal on the body at $450 with 10 months of warranty left. :D

Henry's has no used 60Ds for sale and the closest equivalent is a 50D is an 8 condition at $699.
