I used to be able to upload photos to Flickr and use the embed code to post the photos here. Now it's telling me I need to make my photos public before I can see the embed coding. I've looked through my settings and I have it set to share my photos. Is this a new drawback to not paying for Flickr anymore?

I was going to say that it is a permission problem, but I just changed a set to private and was still able to copy the link.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Sure... I post this and now it's working. I was going to do a screen capture and post it but now it's working when it wasn't working 10 minutes ago. Go figure...

Not a big fan of the text selection in this new look. I liked being able to see all of it at once. Ah well... What can ya do?

Flickr "upgraded" me to the "photo experience beta".... I had no way to go back to the previous setup. I emailed customer service and complained nicely but firmly. It took them a few weeks but just the other day, my Flickr was "un-upgraded". Everything works just like it did before now.

Where do you see your Flickr Status at?

I didn't see any visible notification but all the additional info and options were on the right instead of at the bottom... this is the "new photo experience"..... There was no option to return to the previous version but now that they switched me back, I have an option to "try our new photo experience beta" at the bottom right of the photos on my photostream.

I would email customer service and complain.... see what happens. I know they are trying to get a fix in to the new beta software (according to customer service) that will allow the HTML/BBC code grab.

If you use the flickr share feature, even with a private picture, and paste the BBS code into the post, it works; the only difference is when a person clicks on it, they won't be able to see the picture in flickr itself.

I've noticed that after I upload photos to Flickr that it takes a while for the links to come up. I just don't understand why I can't post anything after I upload photos. Everything is locked for a few minutes after an upload.
