Indian Pipes,,,thats what I was trying to think of ! The plant is mycoheterotrophic, meaning it lives in close association with a fungus from which it acquires most of its nutrition.


I think I thought I thunk,,just before I made a stunk !

Wiki: it's a flowering plant-- in the blueberry family. This is one of about 3000 species of non-photosynthetic (i.e. heterotrophic) flowering plants.
