Here's a photo that spanned over 2 years in the making!! ;)

How was it possible?

I set the camera up and aimed it straight over the town of Canmore this New Years Eve and chose a 10 second shutter. I then watched my carefully calibrated watch and hit the camera's shutter button at exactly December-31-2013 11:59:55PM

For the first 5 seconds of the exposure it was 2013 - 5 seconds before mid night - then with the camera still taking the shot, the year rolled into 2014 and the image was finished 5 seconds after the 1st of January 2014. Effectively taking 1 photo over 2 different years!

Happy 2014 everyone!

Crazy awesome shot. The convergence of the mountain peaks coupled with the haze below make me think of two crazy dragons in a celestial standoff.
