I got an Industry Disgrace strap last year for Christmas, and a plastic piece on the strap where you adjust length, has broken somehow, and now I'm looking for something else.

80% of my work is on a tripod so the strap is kind of in the way more often than not, while the other 20% is event style where letting the camera hang and have my hands free is a must. So if I get another strap, I'd like some way to be able to take it off quickly and only attach it when needed. I love the strap itself, and don't mind fixing it if there is some way to make it quick-release. Otherwise, I'm open to options.

I highly recommend the Luma Labs product. Definitely worth having a look!

Thanks, I looked at it and it looks nice, but now I'm thinking if I want one like that, or a shoulder style where the camera slides up the strap when I take it from my side to my face.

The Upstrap is very popular, many styles. Also, Op/Tech makes one of the most comfortable and most modular strap systems. The POTN straps are Op/Tech. Look at all the connector possibilities on B&H for Op/Tech straps.

Seconded!! Have purchased plenty of Crumpler - never an issue but would like to hear of support if needed.

Got it, just emailed them explaining what broke, and I'll reply with their solution.

I converted mine to use the same quick connects the POTN strap uses (I have 2 of those) by cutting up some extra camera straps I ordered at the same time. Now all my cameras can be used with both styles of neck strap plus the Op Tech dual strap.

UPDATE: I emailed Crumpler and said they will cover it under warranty so I just mailed it to them and they will replace the broken buckle.

Great, but I still want a way to be able to convert this into a quickly-removable strap...

UPDATE: They sent me back a new strap so props to Crumpler, but in the mean time I came across the Peak Design Capture system and am going to give that a shot as well.

Crumpler makes solid stuff. I'm sorta surprised it broke.

Still love the way they make webbing- they take 3/8" tubular webbing and use a hydraulic ram to stretch part of it to 3/4". That way, it's a single piece of webbing between the shoulder pad and the camera, not two pieces of webbing sewn together.

It's a trick I'm *super* jealous of! I found the company that does it in Taiwan, but nobody doing it in the USA.

Crumpler is great! However, I would still recommend looking into a Luma Cinch ;). Not only is the quality amazing, but it is an extremely versatile strap. Use it over your shoulder, across your body, or around your neck :P.

I bought an OP/TECH strap about 20 years ago and am still using it on whatever my primary camera is. It is really great for carrying heavy cameras.

I would recommend these Op/Tech connectors for your Industry Disgrace strap. They will instantly turn your strap into a quick-disconnect.
