Good or Awful?

There's a point where its possible to go too far.....Im wondering if Iv gone too far with the contrast on this?

Horizon line slap bang in the middle of frame too - another no no?

Very nice composition. Yes, I would pull back a bit on the contrast and, perhaps, the saturation. Is this close to what you actually saw?

This. Keep the full windmill reflection and a little more and crop the rest. Maybe some in from the right side to balance it out.Very nice image, though.

Agree with the above. The horizon is cutting the scene in half.

Basic rule of thirds. Cut the reflection in the water just below the windmill.

Plus a hint of color on the windmill itself would be good.

Only my $.02 worth.

I would go just the opposite if it were me and crop from the top just above the windmill. I love whats going in the water.

Certainly not awful. Play around with the crop and see what you can do. OK with the colour and saturation.

Now there's a thought....

sometimes the horizon in the middle works when you have a strong reflections top-to-bottom. But for some reason, perhaps it's the angle that the windmill is at, or the placement in the frame, it doesn't seem to work for me in this case. I might actually try a close to square crop, a little off the top and a lot off the bottom. See how that works. Looks decent on my laptop which is as much of the image I can see at once on this screen.

To many it seems place the horizon in the center with not thought of why. Usually its because they cant commit to what is more important to the photograph. Never any thought into what they are trying to say visually. Even when it come to vertical or horizontal framing. You see this image that you can tell needed a horizontal frame to help express the vastness of the landscape and its shot vertically or an image needs to help support the height of something and its shot horizontally and they are all being sliced in half by the horizon with no thought to whether it should be horizontal of vertical or why they are slicing the frame in half.

I really like the colours in this image, and of course with regard to the rule of thirds, rules are sometimes made to be broken.

Not awful at all! Love the colors but like everybody else said I would crop it
