Wow! I REALLY like this. A lot. I have no suggestions for you.

For some reason, I prefer the b&w. I find myself getting distracted looking at the color shot, my eye wanders getting distracted by the grandmother's mole, the father's beard stubble, oldest girl's hair band, the color of the clothing.

In the b&w, I am just focused on the eyes and their expressions, my eye moves back and forth from one to another, but I do not feel distracted at all, and I could look at it for a long time. I like both, but I think the b&w is a masterpiece.

Thanks for this, great feedback, and this was my view too but wanted second opinions. I have loved looking at different features across the generations of my mum and dad to me, and mine and my wife's to our children. Can wait to try some spin off of this and also extend the photo up to 4 generations

My only real nitpick is that it appears to be a composite because it looks like ech of them were lit independently. The exposure on each face seems to vary. Is this a composite or am I imagining things? If it is not a composite, please explain your lighting setup. Thanks.

Edit: after looking even closer, I notice they are also focusing on a subject that appears to be at different elevations, making me believe even more that it was a composite. It seems that those whom were hit with more light are looking up (my guess is because they were closer to the camera and soft box). Please, correct me if I am wrong.

FWIW, I actually prefer it in color :)

Only thing I wold say maybe a slight amount of light on the cheek area, the dark shadow is a little distracting

Indeed it is a composite, and was intended to be. I will be trying this shoot again so will be paying more attention to detail on the lighting ensuring that the light stays constant, although with the varying heights this isn't the easiest thing.

Thanks for the feedback
