WallaceRiver " ...a bit of a pervy voyeur " More info | Love your shots, Russell, this is definitely on my to-do list. I hear late September is a good time to go to Churchill.....just after the first snow, but before the bitter cold. How long a lens would one need to get some top shots? Would a 100-400 be long enough or should a 500 be dragged along? IAN - Living life on the shores of the Wallace River in northern Nova Scotia, Canada :

All my shots were taken with a 70-300 and while I've been happy with it so far a bit more reach would of been good, especially out of the chopper which was about 100mt above the ground. There was a young bloke on the tundra with us one day who had a 70-200 with a 2x converter and he was filling the frame just that little bit more I thought to myself......yep should have spent the extra $$$ last year when I bought the 70-300. We were there in mid November at the end of the season and were a bit disappointed we didn't see more bears "up close" while on the tundra. Still worth the trip and we had a great time but I've since talked to other people who only seen 1 bear in two days on the tundra Just like a dung beetle......russellpringlephotography
