I am looking to do some high school sports photography, weddings and family pics and such wanted opinions on which camera to get for all around shooting mainly.
I know if I go ff I'll have to upgrade lens also I know I want to purchase the 24-70 and 70-200

IF you can afford the 5D3 plus lenses, do it. If not, you need to decide what your main priority is: sports or wedding/family pics. The 7D has great AF and 8fps, the 6D has incredible image quality and better high ISO performance.

Well, I would/can certainly recommend the 5d3 if you can afford it and the new lenses. But that is a pretty big chunk of change.

The 7d is still a very capable camera, but the 5d3 has it covered in almost all areas.

Are you planning on just one camera? If you are doing weddings, you need a backup. Perhaps you could go with the 7D and 6D (same $ as a single 5d3).

I have shot with both the 7d and 5d3 and would take the 5d3 any time over the 7d as long as you are not severely focal length limited for what you want to shoot.

If the 5D3 is an option, financially, I wouldn't consider the others. If you don't get the 5D3, look at the 70D next to the 7D. Each has advantages, depending on your priorities.

You're going to want the 5D3. It will allow you to photograph low light sports and it will cover all your bases.

Heya,

Think about what you want to "upgrade."

What's your T4i not doing well enough for you? Is this strictly for amateur and enthusiast use, or are you trying to make a living doing this? Are your clients, if they are even clients, going to see a difference between the T4i with good glass, and the 5Diii with good glass? It's subtle, actually, with a skilled photographer behind the two.

Are you having trouble in low light, with a no-flash option?
Do you need different autofocus?
Do you need wifi and stuff like that?

Or do you just think a newer camera (or more expensive camera) will boost your photos to be better? I think you'll find your photos to hardly change at all with a new body, unless you're looking for features they offer that your current camera does not offer.

Very best,

Went from the T2i to 5D3 and am so glad! My keeper rate went through the roof. Crop or FF depends on what you plan to do more. The 7D might soon be replaced by the 7D II. I went to the 5D3 because I could, and it gave me the most updated camera that I can hold onto for a longer time. There is a new super zoom to 600mm that just came out from Tamaron that is getting good reports- would give you the long reach you might need if you do sports or wildlife. The 5D3 like has been mentioned, covers all your bases very well. The lenses will give you the different focal lengths you might need.
