Hey everyone, I have just recently became very interested in birding photography so I picked up a used 40D for some extra reach and the AF to assist my 5Dc.

Atm I just have a 70-200/4 an no extender but I hope to soon purchase either a used 400/5.6 or a Sigma 150-500.

These are 2 shots I took this weekend and are both pretty much 100% crops to compensate for my lacking reachand shot handhel. I think the blue one is a Bluejay and I have no idea what the brown was is but it was out at Lake Okeechobee in South Florida. Anyone know what it is? As always I am open for C&C! Thanks for looking.

#1 looks like a common grackle.

Yes, the first one is a grackle and not a bad shot either by the way.
