I posted this originally in "Wildlife" and was reminded that there was a Bird specific section so I'm reposting here, I hope that is OK!

Hey everyone, I have just recently became very interested in birding photography so I picked up a used 40D for some extra reach and the AF to assist my 5Dc.

Atm I just have a 70-200/4 an no extender but I hope to soon purchase either a used 400/5.6 or a Sigma 150-500.

These are 2 shots I took this weekend and are both pretty much 100% crops to compensate for my lacking reach and shot handheld. I think the blue one is a Bluejay and I have no idea what the brown was is but it was out at Lake Okeechobee in South Florida. Anyone know what it is? As always I am open for C&C! Thanks for looking.

Looks like you captured a Common grackle (Quiscalus quiscula) and a Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata)

Thanks! I would have never found that Grackle! Looks like a Juvenile since it has no color yet?
