I was interested in buying a Sigma 35mm 1.4 but changed my mind because of price and the good possibility of getting a lens with focus problems. So I purchased the Canon 35 f/2 IS instead. At first I thought the lens was soft until I noticed it was front focusing.

Yep. It happens and is possible with any lens... I had a 50L that was a focusing nightmare.

Impossible. it is a well known fact on this board that only third-party lenses miss focus.

Have a body with MFA?

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Can you tell us more about how you came to this conclusion? How did you test?

I looked at my photos and notice the subject was soft but something in the photos up closer was in focus. I then set batteries up in a line and focused on the middle. The middle was oof but the battery up close was in focus.

I shoot with a T2i

You can get MFA on the 7D, 70D, 1D3, 1D4 and even back on the 50D. You don't need to get a FF to get MFA abilities.

Full frame is on my list for better ISO (noise reduction).
