This was one of those images that I almost deleted as soon as I shot it. It lacked contrast, colors were super faded and Vincent was hardly visible through all the fog. I'm going through old images today and decided to try and revive it a bit as a B+W. I want your honest opinion on this one. The more I look at it, the happier I am that I didn't delete it. I've got thick skin. Lemme hear it!

Which do you prefer? This...

The second one is way better but you lost the context of the crack in the trees.

Second one works for me, you've squeezed some detail out of the white areas, and that always looks better.

I like the framing of the second one better, but am very very distracted by the super close up/out of focus/no detail branches on the right side of the frame.

Second one's way better, but I'd give it a portrait crop, myself

I agree with all of these, I would even go as far as to say, just brush in an exposure adjustment on the right-hand side of the frame.
