Hi Guys, I own a 1000D and recently i am facing one issue with it. Camera will focus on half press but when pressed fully it won't take the picture, just no response most of the time sometimes it takes the shot. i have tried cleaning lens attachment and it happens with any lens i own, and it is happening quite a lot, and also happens with or without flash, with genuine battery or 3rd party battery. Please suggest a solution.

Try reseting the camera to default, then format the SD card using the camera, last set to AUTO mode and try.
If that fails it may be a failure of the camera motherboard.

Set the lens to manual focus and see if it will fire. I do agree resetting is a good start too.

You say that the lens focuses, are you getting focus confirmation(green dot) in the viewfinder and the confirmation beep?

Are you sure that the battery is fully charged? Are you using a grip? If so, take the grip off and try it.

Maybe crap in the shutter release button. Give it a blast with a rocket blower.

How about trying a remote? That'd at least confirm camera function. Which might isolate a faulty shutter button contact.

If that's it, simple fix.

Jeez, motherboard, right off the bat? Easy, there... One step at a time.

Good plan - even shooting tethered with the EOS remote app would work if no other remote trigger is available.

Drive mode is set on single or continuous? Not self timer/remote control?
