New cameras?

Nikon announced a new D-SLR @ CES D3300. Where is Canon? I been a Canon user since 1978 and the last year they have been quite.

So, if Canon announced an equivalent T6i, would you be happy with that?

It'll happen around tax season. All the current bodies price dropped in the last couple months.

Canon recently brought out that "White Kiss". How could you possibly want more?

Canon certainly have a problem. They seem to have no answer to the D800 and D800E and whats worse, it seems nothing in the pipeline.

And now Nikon are showing their latest pro camera to the world!

Canon need to up their game big time!

I would be thrilled so long as that T6i had a sensor with similar pixel density, no banding, better DR, and no AA filter since that would mean it would probably trickle around to their other cameras.

I mean at this point anything Canon does is kind of "meh" until they do something with their sensor tech to at the very least match Sony's sensor.

I agree Mjkxxl. Nikon has 24.2mp sensors, Sony a FF mirror less camera, the past year. Sure Canon released the 70D but no replacement for the 7D, just rumors. It seems Canon is stuck on the 18-20mp sensors and nothing announced so far at CES except for P&S cameras. Nuking announced a D3300 with AA filtering removed. Canon what's your answer.

If they only match Sony then I think they are still a little meh. They really need to leapfrog them at least slightly to maintain confidence that on average over time Canon will keep the standards up.

To be fair to them they have leapfrogged in other areas, just not the sensor.

is not really about the mp, more MP is good and Nikon, Sony (both use Sony sensors) not only were able to increase MP, but they also increased noise performance and Dynamic Range. Canon can't do neither.

Plus on CES canon annouced the biggest innovation in Photographic history a "Story Camera" magical camera that inserts a selfie in every picture you take, again who wants more?

Absolutely nothing that I wanted, that's for sure. Video, high ISO, inflated claims for DR. Yes, lots of gimmicks but nothing at all of any substance.

I would sell my soul for a modern 1Ds, with D800E beating DR, no AA filter, no video, low noise etc, etc. The 1Dx does not fit the bill for me.
