Seems a bit overexposed to me. It looks like high noon.

over saturated colour, lacks any real purpose / snapshot syndrome.

If I knew what you were photographing, it would really help. Tire tracks? Rocks? Exposure to my eye seems okay.

Maybe a letterbox/16:9 crop would help
Bring your main subject matter in a better spot in the pic.

More sky, less ground, 16:9 crop. I like the sky colors, maybe bump up the reds in the mountains a little. The tire tracks are distracting.

Well, thanks for all the opinions and suggestions. Based on them, I re-cropped the photo and did a bit of saturation and exposure adjustment. How does this edit look ?

Regarding composition...

There are two sets of great leading lines in your shot.
(1) the tire tracks;
(2) the line of rocks.

Both of these lines take my eyes to the upper right of the photograph. Unfortunately, I was teased by those leading lines because there was no payoff where the lines converged. If you had an interesting mountain or some other feature in that area where I was led, you'd have a compositional masterpiece by finding a pleasing crop.

Thanks for sharing!

(Oh, and which desert is this? It looks similar to the high desert near Lancaster and Palmdale (California), but I don't recognize the rocks.)

1D-III with stuff to stick on it:
70-200L, 28-70L, 24-105L, 300L, 50, 10-17 fish, 2.0x TC
Image editing OK, encouraged, and expected. Thank you for helping me learn!
