Is there a specific reason why on page 80 of the 5D3 user manual that the 24-70mm mk1 is listed Group B?

I see the 24-70mm mk2 is listed in Group A, but what does this mean? Does it mean that all points can be selected in Group A and not all in Group B?

And, yes I am currently looking to buy the 5D3

The diagrams seemed pretty self explanatory. The difference is the number of black boxes/cross type AF points, the mki only employs the center, the mkii allows almost the entire vertical line of sensors.
