A friend told me about these, and I recently ordered two of them (with the clamps). Maybe a little pricy for what they are, but extremely well made, fit perfectly, and will hold your Paul Buff VML rock solid to your lightstand, making any strobe easier to move around on location. I liked these enough that I thought they were worth a plug: http://www.vmlbracket.com/ (external link)

Thank you, sdipirro and jlt23, for the plug on my VML Brackets. I'll be the first to admit that they are indeed a bit pricey for what they are. However, my goal from the very beginning was to make a product that was not only functional and aesthetic but was also made in America. This, unfortunately, means that the cost to produce the VML Bracket isn't cheap. But, despite the cost, there is nothing else like the VML Bracket. I have customers in over 16 Countries now, and to this day (knock on wood) I've never had a single unit get returned. I believe that speaks volumes for the quality and durability of the VML Bracket! Thanks again for the plug...I sincerely appreciate it! :)

Mike, yours is scheduled to ship out today. I've been waiting on FedEx and UPS for parts to complete orders because of the severe winter weather that has taken place over the last few weeks across the Country. Rest assured that I'm doing everything I can to get orders out to customers ASAP! :)

Yep, got the shipping notice. Thanks Joe! Can't wait to use your awesome product. Tried using the factory "stand clamp" the Vagabond ships with and I can only describe it as something else that starts with an "s".

I dont own one myself as of yet, but its definitely on my to buy. Just have no need until the weather warms and I can shoot outside again. I dont mind paying a bit more to support small business' and buy American.

I just placed an order for one, can't wait to receive it and hopefully it'll be a big improvement over the original mount

Congrats. There is no comparison between the two. The original is like a toy compared to the VML.

I carry my einsteins and the mini vagabond in my pelican case, not too sure how to put it in the pluck foam though, attached to the battery or separate. i'll have to see when I receive the product

can't wait to try it out, I've had the battery slide off my light stand on a shoot when I was carrying the lightstand to another location

Thanks for your order, rwong2k. It will be shipping out to you tomorrow. As jlt23 has said, you'll be more than pleased with the VML Bracket compared to the standard plastic clamp that comes with the Vagabond Mini. There just isn't any comparison between the two. You'll never have to worry about your VML falling off of your light stand again with the VML Bracket! :)

That's probably the ONLY downside - it takes up quite a bit of room in the pelican with pick and pluck once you attach it. I just picked more foam to make it fit, but I have a large one (1650) with plenty of room.

I can't wait to receive it. The pelican case I have to carry my lighting gear I believe is the 1650 so I will probably need to pluck some more foam to have the battery and adapter fit.

I carry my VMLs in a Pelican case with padded dividers and lay them on top of each other with a spare padded divider in between.

These VML brackets really are the best option out there and win that by default, but they are so overpriced I never bothered. Whats really sad is that the VMLs are built with such poor quality housings a bracket like this is almost necessary as using something like Super Clamps to mount the VMLs feels like the mount hole will break out of the VML. And it has on quite a few.

ben_r, you're spot on…the VML's are, in fact, built very poorly. More specifically, the threaded insert in the back of the VML is where the majority of the weakness comes from in the VML design. All to often, people mistakenly attach a Super Clamp directly the the threaded insert not realizing that it wasn't designed to take all of the weight of the VML. Consequently, the housing of the VML cracks.

With regard to the cost of the VML Bracket, I completely understand your position. However, the cost isn't out of line given several factors (i.e. they're laser cut, powder coated, made in the US, etc). To further clarify the cost of the VML Bracket, I wrote a blog post a while back that might clear things up further: The Cost of Quality (external link).
