I posted a couple months ago, asking for advice on the Impact Varipoles (basically the exact same thing as Manfrotto's Autopoles). Being such a new product, no one really knew anything about them so it seems I may be a forum first at getting my hands on a set. Initially, I was a little skeptical, because this kit sells for roughly HALF the cost of Manfrotto's Autopoles . I received everything last night and setup was a breeze. I am thoroughly impressed with how heavy duty and well constructed the kit seems to be, so far, despite not actually being able to mount a roll on it yet (I plan to buy a 9' Savage grey paper roll next week, locally). The Varidrive system with chains seems to function very smooth so I cannot foresee any issues but will keep you all posted once I actually mount a roll on it and put the system to good use!

Interesting that the black and silver Varipoles are priced the same, $84.95, but the black kit costs $50 more than the silver one.

How high are your ceilings, Ryan?

8 feet. And FWIW, I've loosened off the super-clamps since snapping the picture and slid the hooks right up to the ceiling. The lowest of the 3 rolls is now sitting at 82" (or 6'10").
