Back after the Christmas vacation and on my day off so I thought that I would take a trip up to the valley and see what was happening around Sheffield Mills for eagles. There were quite a number in the trees but not too many flying, and man I sure cannot get shooting BIF down. I just can't seem to get the bird located in the fov fast enough and then my focus is waaay off. Any way here's some of the take of birds in trees and one flying that is passable.

Happy belated New Year!

Very very nice! They certainly are easier when they are sitting still! :)

I have custom settings for birds in flight, I just forgot to use it today. Brain fart. When I looked at the shots after I got home, discovered that I was using center point focus, single shot. Brain fart. Needless to say not very successful even when I could find the bird in the fov.

Yeah easier, but the in-flight ones are so much more interesting. I'm green with envy at people who have this technique perfected.
