More from Lady Elliot Island. This time Common Noddy, They nest everywhere justabout, and this lot were on the end of the very small runway. Every time a plane lands or leaves, the adults fly off, leaving the chicks to wonder what was happening. Quite used to humans, and easy to very slowly ease your way into their little colony, lie down, and take pics. I had to be very careful, as they nest or sit everywhere, wasn't a lot of maneuvering room, so always had to check before wriggling in any direction, and sometimes just had to accept that I wasn't going to get the angle I would have liked, but sometimes you get lucky.
There are 2 types of Noddy's on the island, the others (white capped noddy) nest in the trees, and it was almost impossible to get good shots. I struggle to tell the difference between the 2 species.
