Something similar to the Nikon Df. How much should it go for? I would be in for one around 2.5k

I am happy with 1-series and failing that 5D gripped bodies and would not want anything smaller or more cumbersome. I want a functional and ergonomic body and canon should spend budge on usability upgrades rather chasing fashion LongLensPhotography.co.uk - Fine Art Landscape and Commercial Photography

Hmmmm....I used an AE-1 when I first got into photography. I would probably like your concept for the sentimental value of it. Heck, for $2500....it would be hard for me to turn that down. Wait... Looking for light in all the right places.

What I would love on the other hand is something more like the Leica M without the price tag. Something built for manual focusing. Something with a dial for shutter speed, a dial for ISO, a manual aperture ring, a focus ring, and that's all. I will sometimes go out and shoot film just so that I have to go slow and take my time making sure I get it all right, and I love that. Would I ever want to use this as my primary camera for work? Hell no, but it would be a fun toy. Just get yourself a X100 and you'll be 90% of the way there for much less than what Canon would want for it.

I have no doubt that I will eventually get something along those lines, but right now there are other things that I need more so it will remain a pipe dream for a while. Aaron

I think Canon sold over a million of them although I personally did own one, making a decision to stay with Konica, which I first purchased in 1968. But there is something to be said for those older cameras in terms of "feel". Simply put they had "heft" which translates to weight. They felt good in your hands, maybe even use of the word "stable" comes to mind. I happen to have a Kodak Retina Iii "large C" the last of the great folders. I was cleaning it the other day and felt it may actually weigh more than my 60D and still works fine even though it was made in1958.

Jan 10, 2014 21:11 | #12 I would love a vintage look with a compact body with a HUGE sensor. It would probably geared towards someone who wants more compactness with high quality images. Yes, similar to the leica M version. Would be interesting to see if they would come out with something like that.

I've seen them go for around $500 on the B&S boards.
