Child Portrait

I'm a novice photographer with a Canon 5D MarkII. Lighting for this photo was not optimal - in a friend's living room with light pouring into one half of the room. Edited in Lightroom, which I am also just beginning to learn.

Would love to receive tips on how I could improve this photo or how I could have gotten a better shot despite the poor lighting.

This is the first photo I'm posting for critique. Please don't crush me.

What's wrong with this? You shot at eye level, kid looks happy, maybe a bit out of focus, too small to tell.

I would probably crop a bit since the bottom hand is nearly cut off and the right side is. Everything looks good though. Cute baby, looks like my nephew.

Window light is some of the best kind of light! Cute shot.

cute baby! id crop it a bit more to remove that hand thats holding the baby up. and i'd clone out that white light on left of babies head.
