promote systems and focus stacking

hey folks
I was looking for an intervolumeter and came across the promote system. It is a complex machine which helps in the dynamic range shots (HDR) and it turns out that it can also do bracketing shots for focus stacking as well.

I was wondering if anyone here has used it, and what you think about it. It seems like a fun toy...and as long as I can use it as a regular intervolumeter, i think it may be fun to add the extra functionality....

anyway - it seems to work with the AF motor to accomplish its stacking
so it may be useful for everything except the mpe
interesting concept however

I've had one for several years and used it extensively for HDR. My first three Canon DSLRs could only bracket three shots automatically, so the Promote was a welcomed tool. I've used it for a few time lapses too.

Never tried the focus stacking function, but hope to in the near future. Seems very easy to do.
