46 shot stack using CS6.....just having a mess around.
the rose bud is 11mm tall, taken with my 600D a 21mm extension tube fitted to my 18-55mm stock canon lens and I also used a macro focusing rail.
reasonably happy with the outcome but I know it can be better.
thanks for looking please feel free to critique.

Looks like it was stacked well. How do you think CS6 did with that? I've not been thrilled with CS5, not terrible but not great either.

It looks like a flash was used, might want to diffuse it (white paper towels even work on a budget) to help eliminate harsher bright areas from the more reflective parts of the flower..

CS6 took its time and was a bit of a slow process even with a top end computer but worked a million times better than CZM. In CZM there were a massive amount of highlighting around the edges and blips/errors all over the final image.
as for the flash i was using the onboard and a Yongnu 560II diffused and hand held and to the right so it wasnt a consistant source of illumination which is a point of note for next time as i am new to speedlite photography.
but all said and done i am happy with the outcome (ish).
thanks for your comment.

Came out well !. For stacking you are better off with a static light source with respect to the subject.

This is great! The whole stacking concept just eludes me, I'm way too new...
