Are photos of bridges worthy of consideration.. I am going back and capturing more photos of this bridge. Are there any pointers available??

Time of day is important (as is with all landscape photog), especially if you can get a dramatic early morning fog. You really need to scope out the area to find the best viewpoint. Sometimes from under the bridge, or maybe from further away but using a zoom to cut out the clutter. Go to the local tourist store and find some postcards with these bridges and try to use that as a starting point. Just some suggestions... Alan
