Was wondering what everyone thought. I like both, but leaning towards more beach than sky.

All comments appreciated!
James

I think id prefer a happy medium, leaving a trailing bit of the beach in the shot and decreasing the sky slightly..

^^I agree with above and also crop the empty space to the right of the sun. Using the rule of thirds.

Hi James - the last one looks nice. It looks though like you may have a bit of halo action going on though with the dock top edge and maybe part of the horizon. I can't tell though if it's from sharpening or a little bit too much saturation.

#2 is better than #1, but is a little too obviously ROT inspired.
Cropping the top off #2 to leave a 50:50 horizon works well, at least in my eyes.

I like number 2 the best. Your sky is much smoother and appealing than the beach.

I cropped a little more of the sand out and more of the right side to keep the same aspect ratio as the original.

I'd go with something between #2 and #4. So; divide by 3rds with the sky having the larger.

Infinite Divide - you divided it almost exactly in half. Sorry, to me that's a compromise. Either pick land or sky.

I agree, :( I wished to keep the same aspect ratio. I liked seeing the edge of the beach, but the sunset appear too centered now.
My crop is not without it's own faults. A 16-9 letterbox size may work better, removing about 30% of the sky above the sunset.
