Redhead Drake - S.W. Florida

A couple years ago, I flew to PHX to photograph these beautiful ducks only to be late by a couple of days.

My luck changed last week here in Florida. I found a pond with thousands of these and luckly they allowed me to get pretty close. Here is one full frame. I was happy! :)

Canon 1D MKIV, Canon 800mm L @ f/8, 1/2000 sec, ISO 640 in Manual mode.

Max, I’ve spent many a day trying to get just an image of a male Redhead up here on the Chesapeake with very little success. The detail of the wing is exceptional and very hard to capture. Congratulations, very nice image…
