What do you use to lug around your Lightstands, Umbrellas, Tripod, Monopod...?

I borrowed one of these from a construction buddy of mine. Worked out great and was able to fit everything in it.

In answer to your question I don't own any lightstands nor any umbrellas (other than the stopping the rain kind in which case I take about 12 to every wedding). I don't take my monopod and the only tripod I take is a Gitzo traveller which is tiny and light which I hook onto my back pack if I need it (which is rare).

Its well worth the investment. Now it only takes me one trip to the car and I can see if I have all of my gear at the end of the night with one glance. I still end up putting this case on a dolly since I also have 4 sand bags and a little ladder to haul around.

Me? I use a Pelican for the monolights, speedlights, cables and miscellaneous stuff. I use these bags to hold light stands and umbrellas.

My band uses this drum hardware bag for our mic & light stands... I've always thought it could be used for photog lighting as well. Similar size and materials, but maybe a little cheaper since musicians are always broke.

I just went to a sports store and purchased a baseball bat bag. A lot cheaper than paying for photo specific products.

don't shoot weddings but I use a sports bag as well. Much cheaper than the photo specific bag I had before and it has held up much better. Most of the wedding photographers I know use bags like have been suggested here already.

Here in Canada, Vistek has a light stand that holds my 4 13ft. stands, 1 9ft. stand, and 1 60" umbrella. No rollers unfortunately, but fairly cheap at $80 plus tax. I then bought a hockey bag made by GRIT. It is the HT1 and I bought one of the smallest - the 33" model. Costs around $160 I think it was. Comes with a roller. I am able to fit 4 Einsteins (with travel bags), 4 Vagabonds (with travel bags), 2 nissin speedlites and its respective accessories (ie. batteries, lightsphere), also some misc. cables and triggers. The bag comes with a stiff back and stiff floorboard, so it's the same size even when empty. Also it's got compartments that you can be creative with to organize your gear.

Here is the GRIT HT1 http://www.gritinc.net​/canada/hockey/ht1.htm​l They have different sizes and different models if you don't like this one in particular. But keep in mind, the bigger you go the bigger trunk space you'll need. I bought mine from Pro Hockey Life.

Don't use lightstands, umbrellas, tripods or monopods and you're golden!

I use the bag that came with my big Manfrotto tripod for my light stands and umbrellas. I don't ever use the tripod, but use the bag for every wedding.

For the lights, I have a medium rolling luggage that used to be my main camera/lens bag until I got a bigger ThinkTank one.

Just to add to my comment above - hopefully it didn't sound too flippant - I used to use a lot of gear, then I switched to primes and realized I didn't need any of it. I use a couple of flashes with clamps and a trigger at the reception, that's about it. I also keep a tripod and lightstand in the car in case I need it, but I very rarely do. I've never used a monopod. All my gear fits in a medium lowpro bag (I carry two cameras on a spider holster throughout the day).

I find the shoot is physically alot easier for me, and my photos are much more natural now.
