I have started building custom frames out of Texas Mesquite trees and Post oak trees that I cut and mill myself . Some have straight edges while others are the natural profile of the wood.
These are put together with joints like you would find on raised panel cabinet doors.
I have been a professional cabinet builder for the past 15 years .

I am looking for ideas on pricing, for say an 8x10

After 2 days, it appears that your market for those frames is very limited.

Based on what I see in southern Arizona boutiques your price could easily range anywhere from twenty to two hundred dollars for the 8 by 10. You might want to check with some local galleries and offer a framing services to one or two that sell appropriate work.

If I was going to seriously pursue this market I would find out which trade shows are well attended by frame shop owners and buy a booth. You might get some retail sales from a website but it's likely to pale in comparison to the business you can generate at a trade show.
