There were four Atoms and some cold looking drivers there today!

The car in the second pic is an Ultima...

This was a pretty big event, and attracts cars from all genres., but the biggest italian get-to-gether is Auto Italia.. which has a gathering of about 100 Ferraris, Lambos, Maserati, and Alfas... For the last two years they've held it in the grounds of a old country manor. I believe they next event is in May.

I must ask - why all the radical angles to the photos? I find it very difficult to view them. I assume there must be a reason, but it eludes me.

Thanks.

Makes them more interesting to look at. I tend to take 'standfard' pics and a few 'wonky' ones, although admittadly I tend to use a bit less lean ;)

The ultima, in case anyone is wondering, is probably one fo the fastest street legal cars on the planet, with the right engine. Some are avaiable from the factory with 7L+ engines, and weighing in at aroudn a ton, think nothing of doing sub 3sec 0-60s and topping out at over 200.

For about £50,000.

Madness.

I was going to turn up to this but transport fell through in the end. Probably a good thing as I tend not to get along with a lot of the PH lot - they strike me as being a bit too interested in polishing the cars and getting personalised number plates, than actually geting the cars out there and ragging the seven shades of sh*t out of them.

IN fairness however, they know hot to put on a good display of metal

Quite agree... you'll want to get to Auto Italia, its pretty good, but again, no ragging the sh!t out of the cars ;)

Pff. Cars are built to have the crap kicked out of them.

I know a chap with a Lancia Delta Integrale, a rare beast these days. He drives it over fifteen miles of craply surfaced, twisting b-road every morning and every night.

Normally looks like this:

And yes, those are Porsche 'Big Reds' behind the Compmotives, fitted himself:

Nutter/Legend. The PistonHeads lot wouldnt like him one little bit. They'd try to prise the keys off of him and rescue Eric The Integrale to a nice CarPod somewhere in a climate controlled garage before popping off to snaffle some Pimms, or something :)

[For the Record - Evo forum/Pistonheads forum = no love lost ;)]

Harry was going to go to Virginia waters IIRC, but in the end he decided to sleep in :)

Edit: I think Harry - Erics owner - went to Auto Italia last year with Eric, I might bribe him with free burgers and red bull to tag along this year...

If you tag along this year be sure to find out where the groups are meeting.. usually at a service station and then you get groups of 10-20 Lancias, Alfas, Ferraris.. etc, all heading up the M1. Good photo opportunity :)

The Dodge Charger with "44" on the doors is mine, I lit up the tyres as I came through the barrier into the car park, people looked at me like I had just landed from another planet

I did see other people rag it as they came out of the meet though, that black noble had came from a track day at brands hatch :)
