Like i said i have no jpegs at mo all raw files and most un processed in Lr, but i simply dont know how to adjust them as a jpeg in thier to 150 max for here,..

I don't know about LR4, but in LR5 it's File>Export... then choose destination, maximum file size, image size, etc.

I think the "artificial" look that is vexing you will be evident in a jpeg. It doesn't sound like a technical image quality problem that could be worsened by even repeated jpeg compression. My dollar is on lighting.

Check the camera settings to make sure you are shooting at the highest resolution and have the sharpening settings at or near the top. You may be having a focusing issue with your lens/camera combination. Try shooting at manual focus and see if anything changes as well. I would love to see a shot SOOC to see what the effect you are mentioning looks like!

Sony is the answer here. Sony's new high dynamic range sensors and growing line of sharp lenses should bring you over the top, where Canon and Nikon have let you down.

I sincerely hope that's a joke...

The problem I see here is composition.

not sure I understand the problem. This image has a lot of contrast. It's in bright mid-day sunlight. Other than a lack of composition I don't see anything technically wrong.

I am serious....and don't call me Shirley.

The IQ is pretty good, for this scale photo. The color rendering is very good, the sharpness is there, well saturated but not overdone.

You can't yet send the camera to take the photos by itself!!... Not until she's 18...

Composition is non-existent. What is this photo trying to tell us?

EDIT: I am commenting on the first photo.

I know the compo is rubbish in both but i was trying to show what to me looks like slightly inferior IQ considering what the photo has been through, the second one was with the camera just set to standard raw with no saturation, contrast or sharpening settings - just bland basic raw, then into Lr 4 and out again without any adjustments..

I see no technical image quality problems either. There is a lot that could be done in post-processing however; maybe that's where you could look to explore and improve. If you were to enable the "Image editing OK" feature in your POTN user control panel, maybe we could have play and show you some variations you could try yourself.

Do you have an example of an image that shows the "through glass", "unreal" effect that you mentioned initially?
