Hello!

I am going to order FotoQuote 6, but have some questions about the ordering process that FotoQuote's support team will not answer until Monday.

In the meantime, I could really use some help with a rights pricing question.
I recieved a request today from a major U.S. outdoor clothing retailer. They are interested in using my images in their catalogs, and want to know what I will charge for such usage. Below are some specifications they listed:

". . . images ranging from ΒΌ-1/2 print size and a circ of 800k. We also sometimes need covers.

Could you give me some info on pricing and usage rights with your images?"

I really need FotoQuote software to figure this out. And I am not trying to "cheap out" - I really do intend to buy the software. But there is a glitch in the ordering process, and support will not be in the office again until Monday at 9am Pacific Time . . . who knows how long it will take them to respond to me once they are back on the job next week? I need to reply to this potential client ASAP. I want them to have my email with a quote first thing Monday morning, eastern time.

So, can anyone give me any numbers from FotoQuote? If so, you can reply here, or send me an email (no PMs, please).

Again, it is for clothing and outdoor gear. Retail catalog. Circulation of 800,000. U.S. distribution. I need prices for 1/4 page (inside), 1/2 page (inside), and cover usage. I suppose separate prices for 1/4, 1/2, and full page cover use would be helpful, as this company often uses photos on their covers that do not occupy the entire page. I suppose online use would be licensed for an additional fee.

I greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

...Photoshelter uses(d?) the same base calcs as FotoQuote: you can at least get the per image quote here on my site:

Click the "add to cart" button then play with the calculator. Remember the pricing is only a "guess" and to moderate the pricing to what you feel is appropriate.

Thanks, BanquetBear

I ran the #s, and this is what Photoshelter cranked out:

catalog, 1/4 page, US distribution, up to 1 million press run:
$1496.98

catalog, 1/2 page, US distribution, up to 1 million press run:
$1871.52

catalog, full page inside use, US distribution, up to 1 million press run:
$2246.05

catalog, front cover, US distribution, up to 1 million press run:
$3368.49

catalog, "spot cover", US distribution, up to 1 million press run:
$2357.59

catalog, back cover, US distribution, up to 1 million press run:
$2526.66

I have continued to be diligent in my attempts to contact FotoQuote, but the only way they make available to contact them is their online support form. And thus far, they have failed to respond to my request for help, despite the fact that I told them my needs were very time sensitive. Taking the day off on federal holidays is a luxury I did not think most businesses could afford.

Oh? Many can and do. My work is closed today and our business is better off for it. It shows we care.
