Its not practical, i get that, but dam someone is going to get it practical

Don't know a slim iPhone with a big honking lens and adapter attached to it will ever be "practical".

Thought this already existed for older iPhones?

Best part of the video: "Adjust focus as best you can" followed by "Continue focusing and tapping until image is crisp"

Also, a case and an adapter with a focusing screen and "2x macro elements" for ~$120? I'm not too optimistic abou the product.

Can't wait to see a SuperBowl shooting SI pro using a 400 2.8 and an I-phone. Really great idea. I think I'll start asking for money to develop a way to use the I-phone as a lens on the 1Dx. Another really great idea.

This. The one redeeming feature of a camera phone is its small size. If I'm going to carry and mount a DSLR lens, I'll just bring the DSLR.

Maybe for video, I can see the practicality if someone was to use a nifty fifty or other small manual focus lens and they didnt want the out of pocket expense of a mirrorless and adapter.
but yeah if you're going to carry a lens of any size you might as well take a body.

I wonder what the focal length ends up at after the adapter.. (didn't look too much at the site)

It looks like it has a glass screen that the Lens projects a 35mm image onto and the iphone just takes a picture of the screen. So it would kind of be like taking a picture of a 35mm slide. DOF, etc, should be the same, but I don't know what it does to light and exposure (and noise).

Throw it in your camera bag as the third backup when your primary and your secondary bodies die.
